Summary: Rubric Classes primarily facilitates connections between students and independent teachers. Most payments are made directly between students/parents and independent teachers, and such payments are governed by agreements between those parties. This Refund Policy applies to any fees paid directly to Rubric Classes for our services.

1. Scope of This Refund Policy

Rubric Classes facilitates connections between students, parents and independent teachers. This Refund Policy applies to:

  • Any service, consultation, or connection fee accepted directly by Rubric Classes
  • Any other payment made directly to Rubric Classes using the payment methods we provide

This policy does not apply to:

  • Payments made by students or parents directly to independent teachers
  • Fees agreed between students, parents and teachers for tuition services
  • Payments made to any third party or external platform

Where payments are made directly to an independent teacher, the refund terms, if any, are governed by the agreement between the student/parent and that teacher. Students and parents are encouraged to clarify payment and refund terms with the teacher before making any payment.

2. No Outcome-Based Refunds

Rubric Classes does not provide refunds based on academic outcomes. We do not guarantee marks, grades, percentages, ranks, admissions or results. No refund will be provided on the grounds that a desired academic result was not achieved, since we make no promises or commitments regarding academic outcomes.

3. Refund Eligibility

For any fee paid directly to Rubric Classes, refunds may be considered strictly in the following circumstances:

  • Duplicate or erroneous payment: Where a payment was made twice by mistake, or processed for the wrong amount, we will refund the excess amount.
  • Service not delivered: Where a paid service was confirmed but not delivered at all by us, and the non-delivery is solely attributable to Rubric Classes.
  • Mutual agreement: Where a refund is mutually agreed in writing for exceptional circumstances, subject to our discretion.

4. Non-Refundable Circumstances

Refunds will not be provided in the following circumstances:

  • Where the student, parent or teacher changed their mind after a teacher connection was arranged
  • Where the student or parent decided to stop attending classes
  • Where the student did not like the teacher after a connection (subject to reasonable trial arrangements agreed in advance, if any)
  • Where academic results or outcomes were not as expected
  • Where a teacher became unavailable, but a reasonable alternative teacher was offered by us
  • Where the user failed to attend scheduled classes
  • Any fee paid directly to an independent teacher

5. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund for any fee paid directly to Rubric Classes, contact us within 7 days of the payment using the details below. Provide:

  • Your name and contact number
  • Payment reference or transaction details (if available)
  • A clear explanation of your refund request

We will review your request and respond within a reasonable period (typically 7-10 working days). Approval of any refund is subject to our verification and this policy.

6. Refund Processing

If a refund is approved, it will be processed to the original payment method used, wherever possible, within 7-14 working days after approval. We are not liable for delays caused by banks, payment gateways or other intermediaries.

7. Disputes and Communication

We encourage open communication. If you have any concern regarding payments or refunds, please contact us first before escalating the matter. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve disputes fairly and amicably.
